Pabst

The brewery that became Pabst Brewing Company was starting by Jacob Best in Milwaukee, WI in 1844 as Best Brewing Company. The brewery was renamed, Pabst Brewing Company in 1889 by brewery president, Captain Pabst. Their brand, Best Select, received awards at beer competitions throughout the world in the 1880s, prompting Pabst to change the name of the brand to "Blue Ribbon" in 1895.
